Good Hotel

Des Artistes is a good hotel. Rooms are very clean. It is nearby the Termini station and 2 minutes from the Metro so a perfect location for your stay in Rome. Which is by the way a awesome city. I really would recommend Des Artistes for your stay in Rome. Not all members of the staff were very friendly but all of them were helpful.

Friendly greeting upon arrival, friendly staff when purchasing wine at reception.; other than that, no greetings/communication upon leaving or arriving back at the hotel. Minimal assistance with a medical issue on final morning of stay.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel, we got what we paid for, really want to say that the breakfast was fantastic and set us up for our days in Rome, only slight criticism is the roof terrace, I'm sure if this was made a bit prettier and had some additional lighting it would be used more often, thanks for the stay

My husband and I very much enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel des Artistes. All the staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful, our room and bathroom were large, very clean and comfortable, and the location was central. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, especially the delicious assortment of yoghurt, fresh rosette buns, meats and cheeses. We are glad we booked this hotel and will recommend it.

So there's something for everyone. The location of the hotel is also good, just around the corner from the metro and bus stops. Metro is very easy to use and cheap. The only thing that could be improved was perhaps more plug sockets. The room only had one, which made it tricky when charging phones and cameras.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street and in an area where there are many decent restaurants closeby, including a bar opposite which is handy as a meeting place or for a quick drink/pizza. There is a supermarket at the top of the road with reasonable prices. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, the room was cleaned every day, and a big bonus was the fridge - a bit small for the amount of alcohol we wanted to store but it really was a necessity in August. The room could have benefited from tea/coffee making facilities but there is a communal bar area on the 5th floor where guests can use a kettle but the one time we tried, the base of the kettle was there but the actual kettle was missing - perhaps an inconsiderate guest had taken it back to their room. The roof terrace was a big plus for us and our friends/family staying with us and locally. We took our own drinks there in the evening, and other groups doing the same created a lovely atmosphere. The only criticisms I have and they are small ones and didn't affect the enjoyment of our stay, were the lift which was mostly very busy and 4 people in it was the limit, and the breakfast room. This really was not large enough to accommodate the number of guests so was congested at busy times. It seemed that there was often something needing replacement - no cups for the coffee, no coffee, no sausages, no bacon, no knives etc. The girls were always helpful when the problem was pointed out, but as I said above, these were minor issues and should not put anyone off staying there. Checkout is a tad early at 10.30am but cases can be stored in a secure area on the ground floor. We would have no hesitation in staying at the Hotel Des Artistes if we ever visit Rome again.

When we checked in, the man at the desk gave us a map and showed us where all the best sights were and also explained how to get there using public transport. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the metro terminal, and you can get anywhere in the city from there. Our stay included breakfast in the mornings, which was great. There was a good choice of things to eat so even a picky eater like myself could find something easily. The only thing we could possibly complain about is that the walls are quite thin, so you can hear what's going on in the next room if the occupants aren't making any effort to be quiet. But I'm quite a light sleeper and still managed to sleep. All in all, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for someone to stay in the city.
