Hotel Des Artistes turned out to be a good choice. It is relatively lose to Termini station, and from there you can easily catch the metro, trams or busses to anywhere. We chose to walk across most of Rome and had a fabulous time.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, would definitely come back

I absolutely loved everyone at the front desk as well as the two ladies at breakfast. The staff was my favorite part of this hotel. Vanda was particularly fantastic. My friend and I spent a good part of dinner one night discussing how great she was over a bottle of wine. So friendly and helpful. Thanks to everyone for a great stay in Rome!

Pleased with courteous, helpful staff. A staff member from Mexico walked us to the hotel around 6 p.m. on January 12, and he was extremely courteous in pointing out metro stops and the grocery store, in answering our questions, etc. Very impressed with the level of professionalism and friendliness we encountered. Liked that we received a map with explanations of how to get to various sites, coupons to local restaurants. Atmosphere simple but pretty in rooms. Nice and warm. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Des Artistes. The Hotel was very easy to find only 10 mins walk from the Termini Station, rooms were clean, staff are very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and included in room rate (croissants, cereals, breads, meats, cheese, fresh juice, coffee and tea). We booked this hotel directly through Hotel Des Artistes. Love your city!

I had a great stay---Still a bit angry about the metro strike--but thats not your fault. A nice clean place to come back to at the end of a long day.
Check the wiring on the switch on the bed in room 511--it sounded like it was arcing a bit---a low level sixxling sound at times---jww----from USA

Reception assistant, female, dark mid-legnth hair, monday 15th december at 130pm. Very helpful and spoke good english which was useful. Suggested good places to visit in the city. Great staff member!
Rooms were spacious, clean and very tastefully decorated. A very enjoyable stay. Fruit and bread at breakfast could have been better quality however the roof terace was very pleasent. They provided maps which displayed landmarks on it... very useful!

Good hotel, specially for the friendly front desk staff, who are always helpful and friendly. Generally all were so good. Young, quick, good attitude, good English. Raoul has been really good. So is the girl with him on Thu & Fri nights. The spectacled young man in red jumper in the morning Sun.
Breakfast room is kind of small, so please, do not take any bags in there as it will inconvenience everybody. Shower and towels are clean. The main railway station TERMINI is just 5 min walk. Colosseum is two stops away and Vatican is 7/8 stops away by Metro. Over all, it is a good basic hotel in an average area. When I needed to book another night, I bargained and got 10 euro off. In Italy, in general, if you bargain, you win. I got 15 euro reduction on taxi too. Good luck. Enjoy Rome.

The hotel is very good situated and very close to the train station!!! The staff always ready to help and the bathroom is clean. I had a nice stay in this hotel.

Yeah the reception was a bit busy everytime I tried to reach them with a question (or even checking-in) but that is understandable. Good location and good standard of service provided. I would recommend this to my friends. No problems at all. Staff All were good

We visited Rome from 12/30 - 01/03/2009 and Hotel des Artistes definitely contributed to make our stay in the city very enjoyable. The hotel has a great location and while our room (standard classic) was not very big it was very clean and provided most of what we needed after a long day walking in an amazing city. Most of the guests we crossed seemed below 40.

Hotel location is excellent. its proximity to the train station and metro makes it ideal especially to travellers' first experience in rome. the road is also very tranquil but there are a lot of good restautants in the nearby streets. rooms very clean and very comfortable. i must thank all receptionists and staff at breakfast for being so nice and helpful always throughout our stay. all you need is ask and they are ready to help with a smile.
