The Italian Open Tennis Tournament (Masters series), also known as the Rome Open, is held every year around May at the Foro Italico tennis park, on the banks of the River Tevere, close to the Olympic Stadium. The clay surface allows for slower but more exciting, flowing tennis, with the Spaniards ruling the roost in the past couple of years. In fact, everybody will keep an eye on Rafael Nadal, the international tennis star who won the edition 2010 of the tournament.

The Foro Italico tennis courts can easily be reached by public transport from Hotel Des Artistes. Just take Metro Line A from Termini Station for 6 stops and get off at "Ottaviano - S. Pietro" station. From there, take bus 32 (TOR DI QUINTO) or 271 (A. DI S. GIUL.) for 7 stops. Get off at DE BOSIS / STADIO TENNIS.
