Rock in Rome 2011

SlashGuitarAs every year, “Rock in Roma Festival” at “Ippodromo Le Capannelle” is one of the most enjoyable appointment for music lovers. The latest editions have seen perform on the stage some of the best national and international bands and artists as Ben Harper, Franz Ferdinand, Killers, Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Motorhead, Afterhours and Marlene Kuntz, Cranberries and Skunk Anansie.

“Rock in Roma Festival” will start June 18th and for more than a month it will offer every night concerts and different kindsof events. Opening guests this year will be the very famous band among young people “30 Seconds to Mars”; the show will continue in the following days with others big names of international music scene as: Jamiroquai, Dream Theater, Franco Battiato, Ben Harper & Robert Plant, Korn, Subsonica, Moby, Caparezza, Almamegretta & Raiz, Jack Johnson, Slash, Chemical Brothers and more others.

Rome Meets the World Music

– From African ethnic music to latin-tinged art rock, this festival will bring to Rome the sounds of the world from both emerging artists and well-known performers, like Suzanne Vega or Cesaria Evora.

romaincontrailmondoRoma Incontra il Mondo (Rome Meets the World) has become a pleasant tradition in the cultural landscape of the city. Every year, the festival offers space to performers from all around the world to share their music and their culture.

Chicago Meets Rome

– The Legendary American band will be offering a Concert as a part of the summer Festival July Sounds Good. Our blogger Jona has all the info for you.


The Band Chicago will be in concert in Rome, July 9, 2011 at Cavea 21 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica as a part of the festival July Sounds Good 2011. The  band was formed in 1967 and took its name from their native city. They have scored many important hits during their career, like If You Leave Me Now (1976) and Hard to Say I’m Sorry (1982).

The band has gone throungh many stylistic changes over the years, playing everything from progressive rock to jazz,  experimental music and melodic rock.

The band that will perform on stage will see Robert Lamm  on keyboards and vocals, Lee Loughnane (trumpet), James Pankow (trombone), Walt Parazaider (reeds), Jason Scheff (bass and vocals), Tris Imboden (drums), Keith Howland ( guitar), Lou Pardini (keyboards and vocals) and Drew Hester (percussion).


Chicago has sold more than 38 million records sold in the U.S., thus winning 22 gold albums, 25

platinum and 8 multiplatinum. Among their accolades they have a Grammy Award, several American Music Awards a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Chicago and they even had a road named after them.

Internazionali BNL D’Italia: The Best Tennis Comes to Rome

-Tennis anyone? the city is just recovering from a weekend packed with emotions and there’s more to come: as every May, some of the best tennis players in the world will be in the city to dispute the most prestigious Italian tournament.


After an exciting weekend that included the canonization of pope John Paul II and the traditionally intense concert of May the 1st Rome is getting ready now for one of its world-class yearly appointments: the tennis tournament Internazionali BNL d’Italia.
